Saltwater Little Neck Popper

I'm heading to San Jose del Cabo for vacation and watching many incredible videos of people around the world catching giant trevallies, roosterfish, snappers, bonitos, mackerels, and much more while surf fishing. As an avid angler, I thought, why not create some lures myself? This is a combination of features from various popular popper designs offered by tackle manufacturers worldwide. I've printed numerous versions, and they work exceptionally well, even for large fish, given their hollow nature. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Infill: 50% or less (50% yields a 2oz plug) Notes: I print them at 50% infill with the popper mouth facing downwards on the table, and it prints beautifully. The resulting surface is incredibly smooth, ready for painting. I use Fusion spray paint for plastics and apply a black back and a red popper face, occasionally adding some silver to the bottom side. A 1/2 ounce bell sinker is attached to the rear of the plug for tail weight, followed by a 0.040 stainless wire threaded through the centreline to tie everything together. Creating the tail loop from the stainless wire requires some practice, but searching YouTube for tutorial videos will help you master it.
