Salmon Sphinx CNC

Salmon Sphinx CNC

Several people have asked for plates and accessories for the Salmon Sphinx CNC machine I adapted from the popular OpenBuilds Sphinx. I printed these, assembled the CNC, and then used it to cut out more rigid plates using 1/4" and 3/8" aluminum. Feeds and speeds were slow, but the 3d printed plates attached held up surprisingly well. This is heavily based on the Sphinx, but as I described on OpenBuilds, I did modify some of the plates to increase cutting area, add rigidity, and I customize the Z axis. Probably a good idea to [read over some of my trials and tribulations](https://openbuilds.com/builds/salmon-sphinx-1-0.4968/) before you attempt to build this. Here's a video of it [cutting a figet spinner out of aluminum](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaLWjMoRKfY&feature=emb_title&ab_channel=BrianPopp).
