Sakura D4 Customizable Rear Suspension Mount
thingiverse
I decided to modify the toe-in of my Sakura D4. I had installed the RR+30 mount which, according to my understanding, results in 3 degrees of toe-in. The kit included a part called RR+10 that, as far as I can tell, equals 1 degree of toe-in. Since I wanted zero toe-in, I designed a customizable-toe suspension mount. And since I was at it, and I genuinely dislike tiny shims, I also made the height adjustable. On the customizer, you enter the distance in millimeters between the pins of the suspension arms. The RR+30 has about 46mm, the RR+10 has approximately 43mm so I extrapolated and used 42mm for zero toe-in. After installation, the toe seems to be zero (at least with my eyes - if you have more accurate data, please share it). If someone can actually measure the distance on a zero-toe part, it would be very helpful here. Also, on the customizer, you can edit the additional height in millimeters (imagine it as the height of the shim below the suspension mount). The kit came with 0.5mm shims. By the way, here's where you can adjust for your printer's dimensional inaccuracy. For example, I used 1mm and my rear camber became positive. You can enter negative values for the height, although below 2mm the pin hole sleeves get in the way. Feel free to experiment with the values and please report anything important that you discover! On the photos, you can see the zero-toe part I printed (previous version, which is why it's a bit ugly) above the RR+10 and the RR+30 parts. I decided to omit the two little protrusions (which I had forgotten and broke while uninstalling my RR+30). It seems to work okay without them, if someone knows why they exist, please tell me. I also include three STL files with zero-toe and three different shim heights (0mm, 0.5mm, 1mm) with the toe-in raised text left and right, and the shim height indented in the center - unfortunately, no way for this to work on the customizer! The zero-toe part works perfectly!
