The Finnish firearm manufacturer SAKO of Riihimäki developed the TRG-22/42 sniper rifles. The TRG-22 fires standard .308 Winchester ammo, whereas the TRG-42 handles more powerful .300 Winchester Magnum and .338 Lapua Magnum rounds, necessitating a larger action and barrel. Available stocks include olive drab green, desert tan/coyote brown, dark earth, or black. Folding stocks are also an option. Muzzle brakes, which reduce recoil, jump, and flash, are typically fitted; Sako factory TRG muzzle brakes vent sideways and are detachable. Zeiss or Schmidt & Bender PM II telescopic sights with fixed or variable magnification are commonly equipped on these rifles, with the latter offering more flexibility at varying ranges or a wider field of view.
