Saitek X52 Pro toggle switch cap
thingiverse
Working with toggle switches on the Saitek X52 Pro (and likely the X52 as well) can be quite frustrating when wearing a VR headset - Elite: Dangerous Commanders using the default profile are probably familiar with this issue. To simplify identification, I created this custom "cap" for the toggle switches, which I use on the center toggle switch and find to be extremely helpful in identifying all three switches easily. Note: The STL file for V2 is available, designed in Fusion 360. This version has a smaller body but an accurately sized slot that securely holds onto the toggle switch body. Due to the gap between shells, infill becomes largely unnecessary; I opted for 50% cubic, 2 shells, and 0.15 resolution, which I'm very pleased with. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: i3 MK3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15 Infill: Whatever Notes: Printed in Colorfabb Intense Green PLA/PHA using "Colorfabb PLA" optimal settings in Slic3r Prusa edition. Design Process: The design process was straightforward and simple, involving a short Fusion 360 work session. I worked from the center outwards, employing numerous construction lines, tangents, and constraints. The entire design took approximately five minutes to complete.
