Saitama Figurine Remix
thingiverse
This new Saitama figure should be sliced and 3D printed using Cura slicing. It stands approximately 12 cm tall, making it a suitable size for most 3D printers. Breaking down the figurine into multiple pieces will also reduce the amount of support material needed, which can cause unwanted deformities. The cape section has built-in support material due to its thin design, and the extra bits should be easily removable (the bottom pieces are intentionally designed to break off). The history of this project began with my admiration for MartialDesign's Saitama figurine, but I was unable to achieve a decent 3D print. The main issue, as noted on MartialDesign's Saitama page, is that it won't slice correctly using Cura. This occurs because the original design is hollow and has extremely thin walls that Cura slicer rounds to thicknesses of zero. To solve this problem, I filled in the hollow parts of MartialDesign's Saitama figure. However, this led to new issues. The cape in MartialDesign's Saitama is not hollow but still has sections that are extremely thin. I re-designed the cape so it flows gently behind Saitama instead of being blown back (this also eliminated the problem of removing support material from something so thin). As a result, I ended up redesigning the hands to fists because they were literally breaking off with a paint brush.
