Saint Wades extruder
youmagine
This is a brand new extruder design that skillfully combines the concepts of a saint flint double sided extruder with the parts required for a wade's geared extruder style extruder. I utilized gears from an early greg's wade's extruder. Herringbone gears will function perfectly unless they are printed with one gear mirrored. Some spacer washers may be needed on the hobbed bolt to align it with the filament. The design works as follows: The filament enters the extruder, is run through a loopback of bowden tube, and then returns again so it is gripped firmly on both sides of the hobbed bolt. It offers exceptionally high traction. The bearing blocks do not require an axle shaft to be inserted; simply dunk the bearing block in boiling water, press in the bearing, and then pinch to secure it in place. Use m4 nuts threaded on the tube ends to retain the main bowden tube and the loopback tube under the bearing block fingers. Use 3" drywall screws or whatever is handy to hold the bearing blocks in position. It might be feasible to use long m3 bolts and nuts instead.
