This is Saint Thomas, one of the apostles sculptures attributed to Gilabertus, a renowned Romanesque artist, identified by Alexandre Dumège's inscriptions that have since vanished. The celebrated sculptor is also credited with carving the magnificent capital depicting The Death of Saint John the Baptist. Regardless of his true name, this artist stands out as one of the most inspired sculptors of his era. The elegance of the elongated silhouette, the fluidity of the drapery, and the diverse systems of folds applied to each body part of this apostle all contribute to create a deeply spiritual figure that exudes exceptional beauty.
