Deathmask (also known as Mortal Mask or Mask of Death) is a legendary character from the Saint Seiya manga and anime series, also referred to as Los Caballeros del Zodiaco in Spanish-speaking countries. This powerful saint was responsible for protecting the Temple of Cancer. A skilled wrestler and ruthless killer, Deathmask believed that sacrifices are necessary to achieve greater goals. The walls of his temple were adorned with gruesome faces of those he had defeated. He possessed a unique aura-emitting ability from his index finger, known as Seki Shiki Meikai Ha or Waves of the Underworld, which could send opponents' souls directly to the afterlife. Deathmask's story took a tragic turn when he clashed with Shiryu in battle and ultimately met his demise. However, he managed to return from the dead as a vengeful spirit. His second attempt to assassinate Athena also ended in failure, this time at the hands of Rhadamanthys of Wyvern, sending him back to the afterlife. Despite his untimely fate, Deathmask played a key role in the collapse of the Wailing Wall alongside other Gold Saints.
