Saint Picolas

It was early December, Father Time was preparing a gigantic vat of brine for his legendary pickled New Year's Eve sausages. This wasn't just any brine, he had swapped an ancient timepiece with a mysterious sorcerer of seasoning for this formula. The ingredients were mixed, and meanwhile; Father Time needed to deliver treats to the clockwork elves. In another room, young Nick and his brother Bert were playing hide-and-seek. Nick patiently counted as Bert scurried off to conceal himself. Nick eagerly pulled his hands from his face and ran off to look for Bert. Before he could even start to search, he found Bert motionless in the vat of brine. Nick Pulled him out and performed CPR on the spot. Bert spat, gurgled, and spattered out the brine from his lungs and began to breathe again. It was a New Year's miracle. Bert was alive but something had happened, there was something about that brine, and it lingered inside of him for too long.
