Saint Peter as The First Pope at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York
myminifactory
This stunning sculpture of Saint Peter as the First Pope originates from Catalonia, Spain, unearthed in the Parish Church of Bellpuig, Lerida, where it is believed to have been crafted before 1348. Standing out by his majestic papal tiara, Apostle Peter proudly wears an intricately designed ecclesiastic vestment (chasuble). The keys representing his role as Guardian of the Gates to Heaven, which Christ bestowed upon him, are mysteriously absent. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World".
