Saint Jacques the Greater
sketchfab
Saint Jacques the Greater, Brabant, Brussels, second half of the 15th century, pickled oak, remains of colorful paintings. Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (Musée du Cinquantenaire, Brussels, Belgium). Made with ReMake and ReCap Pro from AutoDesk. The Apostle James suffered a brutal beheading in the Holy Land. According to an enduring legend, his body was transported across vast distances to Spain. In the year 813, his body was remarkably discovered at the place that would become Saint-Jacques de Copostelle, one of the most influential pilgrimage centers of the Middle Ages. Let us observe how the dress adopted by pilgrims became that worn by the saint who, like them, dons a long coat, a hat with a broad brim and a bag.
