Saint Christopher Medallion Lithophane
prusaprinters

I could have just bought a St. Christopher medal for my bike - I mean, you can get one for a buck or two - but what kind of maker would I be if I did that?

Saint Christopher, for those of you who do not know, is the Catholic patron saint of travelers.

I tried many different styles and orientations, but I could not find a way to convert the image to a bas-relief style medallion (although over on cg-trader there is avery* nice model for sale for $40! yikes!) so I decided to go with a lithophane. To create this, I used the circular lithophane module on https://lithophanemaker.com.

I'm going to, somehow, stick this to the windscreen on my bike so it catches the light.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

TEVO

Printer:

Tarantula

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.1mm - 0.2mm

Infill:

100%

Filament:
3D Solutech PLA
white

Notes:

To get decent resolution on this small of a litho (relatively speaking) this should be printed standing up on it's edge. Doing so will require a brim - I used 21mm - to keep it upright as it prints. I don't know whether supports are actually needed or not, but just to play it safe, I used Cura's tree supports. Your mileage may vary.

Category: Keychains
