Critical Update! 06/13/2020* Adjusted the gantry wheels/spacers to work correctly. The spacer block size was changed because of this. See picture. *Update 06/07/2020* I've fully detailed the placement and sizing of the parts and added a backplate on the backside of the wheels for better support. (Thanks Andreas from the OpenBuilds Facebook group for the suggestion!) Overview --------- Working on a stronger gantry for the Sainsmart 3018 Prover to allow for mounting of a standard spindle/router. A lot of these parts are available on the OpenBuilds shop page, but some need to be sourced elsewhere and some need fabricated. Will keep updating as well as give a full/proper write-up when it's done. Software Changes ----------------- New lead screws are a 4-start type, so change $101,$102,$103 from 800 to 400. Also with a heavy spindle, make sure to enter $1=255 to keep the stepper motors powered and avoid slippage of the lead screws. Parts ------ Working parts list; this is not 100% complete but it's a start. I don't have all the screws here; there are various M5 lengths you'll need.
