Sailor Moon Crescent Moon Healing Wand for cosplay
thingiverse
This little project is totally worth the effort if you can get it done before your next costume-related event. I built this thing using a 1/2" PVC dowel for the body, with everything else printed out in 3D. Don't have to worry about installing the LED, resistor and AA batteries, but they do add an extra level of effect. You can easily go without the lights by substituting the PVC pipe with a 15.5mm diameter wooden dowel - this saves you from having to print out two connecting dowels. Simply stick the wooden dowel right into the crescent moon halves and end tip, it's really that simple. This option is way quicker than going for the full setup, which still involves printing everything out and gluing it all together. This Healing Wand makes a perfect match for this Neo Queen Serenity costume: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1096688 You've got just enough time before Halloween to get cracking on this - so start building now! Here's what happens when it gets actioned out: https://youtu.be/2CIfFxV1v2Y We can't wait to see the pictures you'll send us if you decide to go ahead with this project! October 30th, 2015: here are the results from Season 1: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1101606 December 3rd, 2016 update: this awesome remix is something that absolutely needs checking out! http://www.thingiverse.com/make:272678 June 14th, 2017: to make printing simpler, I just mirrored the front side of this project so it's now a single piece - hope you don't mind having both sides look exactly alike!
