Sailboat Mooring Chock

Sailboat Mooring Chock

My sailboat's mooring lines were getting worn down due to constant rubbing against the aluminum toe-rail, so I decided not to install a standard deck chock because that would require drilling holes into the deck on my boat. This design snaps securely onto the toe-rail and can slide back and forth to adjust to the correct angle for mooring at different slips and floating docks. It is designed for 3/8-inch (10mm) mooring line, but I printed this in PETG and its slight flexibility allows it to snap firmly onto the toe-rail without causing any stress cracks. I'll have to wait and see how well this holds up to exposure to the weather, but since it doesn't receive much force other than compressive pressure, I don't think a little UV degradation will cause too much damage. This design is specifically made for a 1-inch (25mm) high toe-rail with a top rail diameter of 7mm and a web thickness of 4mm. I've tested it on various sailboats including the San Juan 24, J-24, C&C 30, and Olson 30.
