This is a Sailboat by 3D_LabteK, published August 11, 2013 - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:131439 - with an added Keel Extension. The boat prints perfectly, making it my best print to date. When I put the sailboat in the pool for my kids to play, it surprisingly turned over. Using the existing keel as a guide, I created an Add On, Slip Over Keel extension featuring front and back Bull Nose covers. By slipping the extension over the original keel and super gluing the bull nose covers into place, I achieved exceptional stability in the pool, allowing kids to play safely. The original design is a masterful creation, boasting beautiful lines, perfect balance, and serving as an excellent project for any maker. All credit goes to 3D_LabteK for their incredible original work. Instructions 1. Print the original sailboat (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:131439). 2. Print the Keel Extension pieces. 3. Carefully slide the keel extension over the existing keel. 4. Secure the front and rear keel bull nose covers to the keel extension using glue or a preferred method. 5. Once attached, these covers will effectively lock the keel extension onto the sailboat. 6. To achieve ideal results, I recommend printing at 0.3mm layer thickness with 10% infill and applying light edge de-burring. Printing at 0.2 or 0.25mm should yield more precise geometry.
