Saftly clutch / Torque Limiters

These types of clutches are used to protect mechanical components and limit torque. The blue shaft is the power input and the red shaft is the power output. The orange coupling can move freely on the blue spline shaft. By applying spring force from the blue support, the orange coupling contacts the red coupling and the torque is transferred from the input shaft to the output shaft due to the excrescence on their contact surface. If the output is locked or additional torque is applied, the contact surface of the appendage slips and slides.
