You can use english subtitle.</p> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xUjQtLRBsuw"></oembed> </figure> <p> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xUjQtLRBsuw"></oembed> </figure> </p> <p><b>Context</b></p> <p>There exist different smartphone tracking applications that would be useful at the end of lockdown against COVID-19 epidemy.<br/> This is obviously an interesting approach, but there exist several important problems with it.</p> <ol> <li><p>From different studies, it is necessary for the global efficiency of the tracking system that at least 80% of the population are equipped. In many countries, such equipment rates are not attained.</p> </li> <li><p>Among people that can’t use a smartphone application, many are exposed to high COVID risk: homeless, elderly, prisoners, and disabled people.</p> </li> <li><p>There is much concern in some countries about data privacy; this might discourage some people to use a smartphone for tracking purpose, even if it is against their own interest.</p> </li> </ol> <p>For these reasons, I followed a different but complementary approach to make life easier at the end of lockdown. I designed a specific electronic portable device able to connect to other devices of the same kind, but also able to connect to a smartphone tracking application.</p> <p>The device produces a “risk” estimation of people we meet outside during day. When a user equipped by the device meets another one equipped either with a device or a smartphone tracking application:</p> <ul> <li>It measures distance to the other person</li> <li>It counts number of people met by this person </li> </ul> <p>From this two information, it computes a “risk” estimate. This estimate can help people in the neighbourhood to get around somebody with a high estimation, but it also permits to somebody COVID-positive or exposed to high level of risk because of his/her job to signal the risk to his/her neighbourhood, and thus reducing the risk of contamination.</p> <p>The device uses Bluetooth low Energy technology and is based on an ESP32 microcontroller chip.</p> <p>Now I want to do an Experimentation by building 200 devices and give them to people in the neighbourhood.
