Safety Warning: Wearing Cut-Resistant Gloves
cults3d
Safety Alert: Wearing Cut-Resistant Gloves is Crucial I've been cautioning students and friends about the hazards of 3D printing, especially when using a spatula to remove parts from the bed. Without sufficient adhesion to the bed, prints often fail. Conversely, with too much adhesion - due to glue or hairy spray - it can be challenging to extract the part from the bed. A heated glass bed is a better option. I've suffered numerous injuries while removing parts from the bed in the past. The problem arises when the part suddenly detaches, leaving behind various risks. Recently, I inadvertently ran my spatula into my hand when removing a small part without wearing my cut-resistant gloves. To make a long story short, I had to drive myself to the ER and received several stitches. Although it wasn't severe, I wanted to warn the 3D printing community about this potential danger. Please wear protective gloves when extracting parts from a 3D printer bed. Of course, other safety precautions deserve our attention. Stay safe and continue nurturing your imagination.
