Safety Razor Holder/Hanger
thingiverse
I designed a holder specifically for my double-edged safety razor, which kept slipping off the shower shelf. I had some leftover 5mm metric stainless steel flange nuts from another project, so I decided to use them as the attachment method. The suction cup features a M5 threaded stud that is approximately 7mm long. I intentionally left room for the suction cup and added holes in the support area to facilitate faster draining and drying. The design is also narrower than the razor itself to ensure efficient water flow. The suction cups are available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074SH64KZ. If you don't have a M5 flange nut, you can likely find one in the small parts bin area at Ace Hardware. Alternatively, if you only need a stainless steel M5 nut without a flange, Ace has them in the Hillman bin/tray 319, item 4045-C, for $0.45 each. The razor featured in this design is a WeiShi butterfly open safety razor, available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PKGXZ24. Initially, I considered making the shelf at the bottom like a hook; however, I ultimately preferred this design as it conceals the flange nut and threaded stud under the razor. Perhaps I'll create a v2 with an M5 hex nut for use instead of the flange... because variety is always welcome.
