I needed to devise a way to create a barrier between employees at my workplace without breaking the bank. None of the available PVC clips were suitable for my needs, so I designed and built one from scratch. Utilizing 1" PVC pipe with its higher psi rating made it stiffer and more robust. Printing the clips in PETG provided them with added strength and flexibility, allowing me to easily spread them apart and secure them around the PVC pipes if they were already connected. I tested the clips with various materials such as Acrylic, foam board, and corrugated polycarbonate before selecting the latter due to its affordability and versatility. A single 48in x 96in sheet of corrugated polycarbonate provided me with four barriers for approximately $80 USD. To secure the clips in place, I used #6-32 x 3/4 IN machine screws and nuts. For my specific project, a 24in x 48in setup required: * 3x 1" PVC pipe (10ft long) * 4x 1" PVC T connector * 2x 1" PVC elbow * 4x 1" PVC cap This design could also be adapted to create an affordable 3D printer enclosure.
