This design builds upon the cat collars created by Ancol: http://www.ancol.co.uk/cat-products/collars-harnesses/break-away-buckles/i-am-micro-chipped-safety-cat-collar. I was dissatisfied with the original collar, as its plastic component can fracture relatively easily and isn't replaceable; often a fork from the side of the trident piece is used to repair it. To create a replacement, my main goal was to enable retrofitting into a broken buckle. The webbing part is virtually indestructible, though ultimately, the "I am microchipped" text will still be slowly worn away over time, necessitating new collars from time to time, but perhaps slightly less often. Hopefully, assembly is self-explanatory. The buckle features an added support layer designed in, which can be easily removed once printing completes.
