Safariland QLS Receiver Plate
thingiverse
I'm a serious gun enthusiast who relies heavily on the safariland QLS system with my trusty Glock 19. What I really wanted was the ability to print out multiple mounting plates instead of wasting what amounts to the cost of an entire roll of filament plus some more, so I created a model for the plate that lets me print many for the price of one. Print at 100% infill for maximum strength and durability. The total material usage comes to roughly 65 grams with a raft included. UPDATE: After producing two consecutive revisions following my initial test printing experience, version three opened up the channel by 1/16 inch overall as the extremely tight fit of the first prototype didn't allow for smooth attachment and detachment. Once I've printed version three and tested it, I'll continuously update the file until I achieve a flawless working model. UPDATE UPDATE: The fifth version turned out to be as solid and functional as the real thing. To provide a surface for bridging the 'wings', I added custom supports to the model, which allowed for smooth printing without any mess during the process. Supports come off easily but leave a clean channel for the QLS male connection to lock into perfectly. UPDATE 6/2/19: A secondary file has been added that supports the use of traditional safariland hardware, namely T nuts and 8-32 allen bolts for securing/fastening purposes.
