SAE and Metric Socket Organizer Trays

SAE and Metric Socket Organizer Trays

Another problem solved! I have a Crescent mechanics tool set that was purchased from Costco over 20 years ago. The cheap plastic organizer case that housed the tools self-destructed a long time ago so I transferred the entire set to a nice metal tool box with drawers. As you can see in the photos, this makes it a challenge to find the right socket when needed, so I designed these trays. I printed them in Inland Black PLA using 0.3mm layer height and otherwise default generic PLA slicer settings. Optionally, you can use a color change to print the embossed label in a different color for better readability. Prusaslicer should detect the lettering and suggest that the color change be applied automatically. I used a brim to prevent lifting. The STL filenames contain decimal fractions to avoid file system filename conflicts when downloading. The design is on Tinkercad at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/lE49QoHR7PP if you wish to customize. Happy organizing!
