Sabotage inline skates for kids
thingiverse
This is a project for my 2 years old boy. Intended more as a toy rather than regular sport equipment. He was so interested in my skates so I decided to give him his own ones... but couldn't find the size! So it's probably the smallest inline skates frame around. We'll see how it goes haha! The frame is in two versions. In sabotage_frame all wheels are on the same level - but due to material warping the middle one prints slightly above. In sabotage_frame-rocker the middle wheel is lowered 0,2 mm. If material warping was eliminated it would give a rockered configuration for better maneuverability. Wheels are also in two variants: one for 608 2RS 8x22x7 bearings and one for Igus MFM-0812-08 bushings. Bushings version is recommended for its superb lightweight. I made bearings version because I have a lot of spare bearings but they are pretty heavy. Bearings version also require spacers to be put between wheels and frame. Wheels spin on standard 8mm/31mm M6 double axes. The boot is made of normal high sneakers with drilled sole. In presented model the boot size is EU 24 but could possibly host also 25 or even 26. Kids skates on the market starts from 26-27. The complete frame is set up by two M5 20mm cone head screws and optionally M5 square nut and glued with Sikaflex to the sole. It's that simple! Kids that size are probably too young to skate but I believe with help of parents it could be good ballance exercise and quite fun. But remember: SAFETY FIRST!
