The Saab SF-340 was a twin-engine turboprop aircraft developed by a collaboration between SAAB and Fairchild Aircraft. Its first flight took off on 25th January 1983. After Fairchild departed from the production line in 1985, having manufactured around 40 units, Saab continued to produce the aircraft under the name Saab 340A. However, when sales dwindled in the late 1990s, the production was ceased in 1998.
