Initially, I made a mistake by printing this mount using rigid PLA material, which resulted in one corner snapping off when attempting to insert the phone. However, the remaining portion and top edge still provide a secure hold for the device. Since then, I have successfully printed the holder using flexible PLA from Sunlu at 200 degrees Celsius, with a layer thickness of 50 degrees and a print speed of 30mm/s. The result is a sturdy and flexible mount that fits perfectly. One major advantage of this holder is its ability to allow users to operate their phone while charging it outdoors, even in adverse weather conditions, making it ideal for activities such as using a chartplotter app on a boat. The buttons, cameras, and edges of the phone remain fully accessible. The updated version 2 of this design features stronger corners and incorporates a channel for the charging wire, providing an improved overall experience.
