S3 Dock Amplifier
thingiverse
Created by a Grade 12 student, Josh D., this docking station is specifically designed for the Samsung Galaxy S3 when it's in its case. The device has cable input holes to charge the phone while docked, and an amplifier section that redirects and boosts sound from the phone's speaker. It truly works! To print, the model was made with PLA on a makerbot and then painted for better aesthetics; Josh wasn't fond of the default purple color. The printing specifications included a layer height of .2, rafts and supports, 25% infill, two shells, nozzle temperature of 190 degrees, and a bed temperature of zero. For assembly, an amplifier was mounted to the base using three M3-0.15x18 bolts.
