Match grip for S&W 686, medium hand size. Engineered specifically for single action/precision shooting by right-handers; left-handers simply reverse the following instructions. Use M5 screws and washers exclusively. Print in two parts with supports facing upwards on the outer side. To print the right side, position the grip in your slicer on the left side and apply an offset of -19.8mm; for the left side, use an offset of -28mm. When printing without a raft, it's crucial to remove excess material above the heat bed using sandpaper. For optimal results, I recommend using a raft instead. Don't forget to eliminate supports from areas surrounding the grip pin. A thin nail or dart can be used to press against the pin; alternatively, you may employ a borer or screwdriver. If your 686 frame wobbles within the grip, adjust the pad according to your needs and place it on either side as necessary. Edit: On April 2, 2019, I added modified version APHGrip2.stl. This update allows for a more comfortable use of the support hand. Edit: As of February 10, 2020, I've uploaded new files (APHGrip2_5...10.stl) featuring larger angles - ranging from 5° to 10°. Please ensure you're using the current versions as initial postings with angles between 5 and 15 had errors.
