S.S. Meteor Whaleback Freighter
thingiverse
The SS Meteor stands out as the sole surviving example of the innovative "whaleback" design. Conceived by Scottish captain Alexander McDougall, this revolutionary design allowed for maximum cargo capacity with minimal draft requirements. Constructed in 1896 in Superior, Wisconsin, United States, the ship underwent several modifications before it was retired from service in 1969. Today, Meteor serves as a museum vessel, proudly displayed in its hometown.
