Why I Bought a Horizontal Bar and Had to Get Creative with Hangers I recently purchased a horizontal bar to hang my empty camera bags from, but unfortunately, I forgot to buy the hooks that come with it. Rather than making an extra trip to the store, I decided to spend more time designing and printing the hangers myself. After some experimentation, I ended up printing mine with PETG at 60% size, three perimeters, 15% infill, and three top/bottom layers, and they hold up remarkably well. Key Features of My DIY Hanger Design My design can accommodate a 40mm diameter bar at 100% scale. It's designed for strength, thanks to chamfered edges that make it more robust. You can easily scale the design up or down in your slicer to fit other bar sizes. The unique shape resembles an "S," which is a nice touch. How to Print My DIY Hanger Design To get the strongest part possible, print with PETG and multiple walls at a slow speed. Printing without a fan will also help create a stronger design. No supports are required for this design. You can print it at 0.3mm layer height or lower, and it should turn out fine. Open-Source Design The original design file (Fusion 360) is included, so feel free to improve it or learn from it!
