S.A.F.E Compatible N99 Mask Cartridge IMPROVED FOR PRINTING

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. NOT APPROVED BY ANY OFFICIAL ORGANIZATION. This is a cartridge design that fits the Self-Assembly Filtration for Emergencies (S.A.F.E) Cartridge System designed and released by the medical university of South Carolina (MUSC). The license they release it under is VERY restrictive, so I had to completely design these easier to print parts myself. The dimensions and function are compatible, so the same assembly process and function is still there. For the mask STL, original files and instructions on how to make these masks and filters go here: https://web.musc.edu/innovation/covid-19-innovation. MUSC did a great job with this design, but the filter cartridge was not optimized for printing and had lots of overhangs and wasted time with lots of support. Some improvements in my design include: -No large flat overhang on the body, reducing support material considerably, only a line is required -FDM optimized valve vent hole orientation, no support material to remove -Alignment marks so you do not glue the lid on incorrectly -Slide on valve cover, so you can easily remove it to inspect or service the valve, and no support material to remove -Wide foot on body so brim is not required -Optimized thickness in body so up to a 0.8mm nozzle can be used to speed up production. -A 3D printable template was created, so you can easily cut the rubber needed for the valve with scissors
