S-500 400W Power Supply cover w-switch and AC socket
thingiverse
This cover fits the S-500 power supply perfectly, providing a precise match for its specifications. The unit is 12V with a current output of 40A and a total wattage of 500W. A switch and power socket mounting holes are also included. My Power cord is the standard PC PSU power cord, which I have simply brought out through holes in the cover for easy access. There's even a hole below the socket that I plan to use as a light pipe for the power LED when I find the right one. Only a single extra hole needs to be drilled into the PSU frame on the right side where the lower screw is visible. The left side, however, is held firmly in place by a protruding part that slides under the PCB and behind the PCB mounting screw, eliminating the need for screws on that side. This mount is extremely solid, with the edges overlapping the frame to create a smooth transition. Modifying the switch hole should be easy, as it's designed to accommodate different snap-in switches. The central pieces serve as bridging support, but they can be cut out when you're cleaning up the cover. The mounting holes for the socket and right side are specifically sized for 3mm plain or thread-forming plastic screws, making nuts unnecessary. Twelve-volt wires exit on the right side via a notch, while the left side features a hole for my 12V LED wires – you can remove it if you don't need it. The slightly rough finish was likely due to Slic3r, but I've since updated to version 1.2.9, which should produce better results.
