Ryobi Garage Door Sensor Sheild

Ryobi Garage Door Sensor Sheild

I purchased a Ryobi garage door opener that features sensors extremely sensitive to sunlight. As a result, I can only secure the door at night by manually pulling the release and closing it myself. Although I only built one side, you can easily replicate it on the other side for symmetry. This setup appears to be working effectively so far. Feel free to modify this design as needed. I'm not a fan of supports, so I decided to cut the structure in two and simply glued the scope piece directly onto the base. Additionally, I've designed two different styles of clips to secure sensor wires, providing options for those who may not want or cannot secure the wires to the ceiling. The first style holds the wires on top of the track, while the second design secures them on the side. Both styles ensure uninterrupted door movement. All these components are installed on my garage door and functioning flawlessly despite the issues with the door opener itself. ****EDIT**** I redesigned the scope, incorporating a view hole for the sensor indicator to provide better visibility. I've also added two new clip designs to hold the sensor wires in place along the rail.
