Ryff, the Gryphon
sketchfab
I wanted to practice creating some unusual anatomy (winged quadruped), fur textures, feathers, and claws so what better creature than a lovely gryphon! Not a polished model at all, again, this was just quick practice. I had loads of fun doing the feathers. All thanks to a couple of awesome Maya scripts I found on the internet: First one helped me paint different feathers with specified yet varying angles on several parts of the body. The script is called spPaint3d 2011.1 and can be contacted at spaviot@gmail.com, available for download at http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/utility-external/misc/c/sppaint3d Then to anchor the feathers to the main body, I was saved by this wonderful script: djRivet.mel was written by David Johnson and can be contacted at david@djx.com.au, visit his website at www.djx.com.au
