For my very first 3D Modeling lesson, I set out to recreate the lamp post in Beacon Academy Courtyard from RWBY. My ultimate goal is to meticulously rebuild the entire courtyard itself from scratch. To achieve this ambitious project, I opted for a straightforward workflow using Boolean in 3Ds Max. No surprise here - exporting the model resulted in a complete mess due to n-gon issues. Weeks went by before I finally decided to tackle a retopology challenge head-on, devoting an entire eight hours to getting it just right. While my result still has some minor flaws, it's now viewable.
