RV Water Valve Knob and Nut/Cap

RV Water Valve Knob and Nut/Cap

prusaprinters

This model was made to replace missing water valve knobs and cracked nuts/caps for a 1996 Safari Trek RV.  The RV shown was missing knobs and many nut/caps were cracked. In the pictures, the old parts are off-white/gray in color.  New parts are red, white, and blue.  Blue and red parts were made for the cold and hot water respectively.  The valve insert part that the knob attaches to did not need replacing.A small pipe model is also provided to be used as a thread fit check.  The pipe is an optional bonus part; therefore, it is not included in the material weight and build times. The parts were built using PETG, a 15% infill, and a 0.40mm nozzle.  A print setting of “0.15mm QUALITY” was used to produce detailed threads. The threads are custom made with a pitch of 19 threads per inch (TPI).  A Python script is included that can be used to make many custom threads for Fusion 360.  Change the parameters in the file and when executed, the XML file will be written in the correct location on Windows.  It can be modified for Linux. The Fusion 360 model is included and contains the knob, nut/cap, and pipe.  It is parametric for othe RV models with slightly different dimensions.
