RV Furnace retro circuit board 31501 holder
thingiverse
This is a retro kit for an Atwood Dometic furnace circuit board 31501 for an RV furnace. I printed this on its left side with 20% infill and supports. I used #6 x 5/16” screws for the board and to secure the board in the bay. The Long Story: I bought a 2016 RV in 2018. I tried to use the furnace Atwood AFMD30111 and when it didn’t work found the circuit board corroded. It looked like it had been sitting in water. Taking the advice of the forum, I diverted the drain from the fridge that is above the furnace to the outside and put in a new board. Four months later I was camping and tried to use the furnace and found the board was corroded again. I found a power connector was broken off from the corrosion. The forum suggested a video from Just Plain Common Sense titled “Atwood Dometic Furnace Problems Part II The Repair”. In the video he says Atwood Dometic made a retro kit for an obvious flaw in their furnace to keep the board up out of the water that pools (through condensation or some other method). In the video he gives a phone number and person to contact at Atwood Dometic and said they will send it to you free like they did for him. I could not get a hold of the person he listed, but the person I did said it is not their “protocol” to send out the retro kit and that I had to go to a dealer or repair shop. So it’s not that they couldn’t, but they wouldn’t send one. So instead of just sending me a retro kit for their flawed furnace, I have to find time, drive 140 miles, spend $50-100 copay for my warranty (I shudder to think it would cost without the warranty) and leave my baby with a bunch of strangers. The last time I sent it in they had it a month and caused more damages then what it was in for. With that, it’s 3D printer to the rescue!!!
