RV Cable Cover

I own an older RV and got tired of running the cable hookup through the window at campgrounds, so I decided to take action. To install a permanent cable connector, you'll need to drill a hole in the exterior of your RV, making sure to seal it with plenty of Caulk behind the cover before attaching it securely. I believe the screw holes should fit #8 pan head screws, although I haven't installed it yet, and I recommend reinforcing the areas behind the screw heads for added stability. A quick trip to my local cable company dumpster yielded a double-ended coax connector and rubber boot that I used in the installation, which are also available at stores that sell coaxial cables if you prefer to purchase new ones. However, I like to repurpose materials whenever possible. To ensure a secure connection, I sized the center hole so that the coax connector has to be forced into it, creating its own threads. Alternatively, you can widen the hole, but this may result in not having a thin enough nut to fasten it securely on the rear and still connect the interior connection properly.
