RustySpoon's Vertical X-Axis

RustySpoon's Vertical X-Axis

thingiverse

This vertical axis printer design allows use of a Greg's Wade-style extruder and most attachments with similar mounting styles. The carriage has been modified for different attachments, including a holder for the extruder and one for a Dremel flexible shaft. A fan can also be mounted on the carriage, along with additional accessory bits. SolidWorks2012 files are available for download in a rar format, along with assembly and support files. All LM8UU bearings are secured with a ziptie, ensuring they won't move when properly tightened. Holes and nut traps are designed for 6-32 nuts/bolts (or M4 as an alternative), except the Z leadscrew and idler pulley which require 5/16" or M8 bolts. Follow assembly instructions available on a Flickr set, with comments detailing the process.
