Rusty Wrench
sketchfab
This massive open-ended wrench is a relic from the depths of the mines. Its steel composition has been oxidized over time, leaving it with a rusty patina. Measuring approximately 35cm in length, this behemoth of a tool dwarfs its more diminutive counterparts found in standard toolboxes. Originally used to secure the screws on transportation chutes, which ferried coal through winding passages, the wrench played a crucial role in ensuring safe passage for miners. The chutes themselves were a staggering 3 meters long and led directly to waiting carts. However, due to the chutes' violent shaking during operation, the screws required frequent tightening by hand. Although this was its primary function, readers are encouraged to consult the accompanying annotation for an additional and unexpected use of this tool... "Imagine yourself in that underground environment," a former miner once said. "It's loud, it's dark, and you need to think creatively."
