I'm not familiar with what you're talking about. Russian icon - That's a weird title for a statue, though. Maybe they wanted to be bold and try something new, but ultimately failed miserably at pulling it off? Who knows, though; that's what makes art so beautiful: it's open to interpretation. Russian icons are typically beautiful works of art. This particular piece appears to lack creativity in its execution and aesthetic. I guess only time will tell if it gains recognition.
