Russian boxcar series 11-270, HO scale
thingiverse
This is a 1/87 scale model of Russian boxcar series 11-270. Its overall dimensions and major features are modeled with precision, but undercarriage components are somewhat simplified and rough. Assembly can be seen on the following image: Notes: * I must emphasize that a perfectly flat bed is essential for successful printing of this model, or you'll need to implement compensation mechanisms such as level sensors and mesh bed leveling enabled. Good adhesion is crucial for this thin and detailed print. * Two versions of the car can be printed - one with ladders and hatches on the roof (use "top v2", "ladder h" and "ladder v") and another without (use "top v1"). * The bottom is designed to accommodate Mehano American bogies with integrated couplers. Other bogies with M4 screws will fit, while those with M3 screws require a nut for proper fitment. * If your 3D printer can handle bridges well, ladders can be printed in one piece along with the top and front sides. * Doors are movable but may need some filing to fit properly. They are symmetrical and can be placed upside down. The only difference between versions v1 and v2 is the position of the decorative plate for the lock. * The bottom ladder (ladder 3) is movable (can be folded), but since it's prone to falling off during the car's movement, it's recommended to glue it in one position. * On the model render, there are two brake wheels on each side of the car, but only one is present on real cars. Print only one for accuracy.
