Runout Sensor Mount for ender3 with direct drive extruder
thingiverse
this is likely way overdone but I got bored and made a floating mount for my runout sensor on my ender 3. I decided to post two versions of a couple of the brackets for the option to print it all at once with supports or as two pieces and then superglue the faces. The design allows a setup with a direct drive extruder and top mounted filament spool to make use of an ender 3 runout sensor. This was designed to repurpose my runout sensor which became useless after changing from a bowden loop to a direct drive setup. The design uses 4 608 bearings (yes, 4! its overdone I said that) the result is that the sensor can move freely left right forward back and rotate forward and back. This design is relatively untested right now (11/6/23) as I'm fixing my printer... Let me know how it goes if you download it!ASSEMBLY:Parts are all connected via 608 bearings press fit. If your print is too loose or tight either adjust the size slightly or sand and taper the opening to press it in if its too tight, or use a layer of painters tape and a light use of superglue if its a bit loose. works perfectly for me.
