Runcam3 or Session Mount for Mini Talon
thingiverse
This mount fits perfectly with the Mini Talon and Runcam 3, making a GoPro Session compatible with a 1mm spacer behind the camera for full forward positioning. The mount was designed using a precise 3D scan of the Mini Talon's fuselage, ensuring an aerodynamic fit that rivals internal mounting methods. The mount mates seamlessly with foam fuses, and its versatility allows it to work in conjunction with Itsqv canopies and camera mounts. In this setup, a plain canopy is used with the Eagle2 Pro mount, but more advanced Itsqv mounts for pan and tilt could also be employed. A 3mm x 6mm screw and nut secure the camera into place within the slide mount, although the print's tight fit may not require additional retention. The optional skid provides extra protection, requiring the wheel holder to be cut off. Removing the stock tail skid (too tall) and replacing it with a flush variety skid protector reduces the downward angle after landing. If a large prop is used, consider folding it for better control during slides. The camera can be powered on or off by removing the slide mount or the plain canopy, allowing access to the button from above. It's recommended to use a lens protector for Runcam 3 or GoPro Session cameras when landing in dirty or rocky environments. Grass is preferred whenever possible, but careful handling is essential when landing on gravel or rocks to protect the lens. The interchangeable slide mount allows for future designs that can accommodate various camera styles, expanding the mount's versatility and potential applications.
