RunCam Split 2 - Martian II Top Mount
thingiverse
Update - 04/29/2018 By popular demand I've made additional versions of this housing with the following camera angles. 45° 35° 30° 25° Have fun ----------- The RunCam Split 2 sounds like an amazing piece of kit on paper..... - FPV and HD Camera all in one - Wide dynamic range camera - Records at 1080 60fps - Lightweight - No need for a GoPro What's not to like?? Latency, That's what. The latency was bad enough for me that I was unable to fly comfortably with it. I know that there are people out there who say that the latency doesn't bother them, but they're not me. But aside from the latency, it's still a pretty good HD camera so I figured why not use it as one. I found Daubut's top mount design for the Split and decided to try it out. I think it's a great design, but there were a couple of things that I wanted to see so I decided to make my own version of the model. This design fits on top of the Martian II frame, has a 45° incline, and the lens of the RunCam is recessed to provide a bit more protection. It also features a hollow bottom that allows for easier placement of the camera. This model is designed to be printed in TPU or similar semi-flexible filament so the fit is very tight. I don't know whether using ABS, PETG, PLA, or any other type of filament will work with this model. Consider yourselves warned. I printed mine with 100% infill and 0.20mm layer height with supports enabled.
