Runcam Nano 3 Canopy and Mount
thingiverse
I designed a canopy for my new Runcam Nano 3, which I'm excited to share with you. I've got different versions in progress, but the "half canopy" is complete, and that's what I'll be posting today. My custom canopy and mount weigh in at 1.4 grams, while the original Mobula 6 setup comes in at 1.1 grams. Although I'm a bit heavier, you won't need an extra piece of foam underneath mine since I've positioned the front screw for support. To install the canopy, simply place a single screw in the back FC screw hole and use the front three points to secure it. This design makes it easy to mount your Nano 3 in any 14mm canopy. The mount itself uses two M2 screws on the sides and some 1mm screws to hold the camera firmly in place. I've intentionally oriented the mount on its side to maximize the strength of the side screws. When printing, use TPU for the canopy and a harder material like PETG or PLA for the mount. This ensures that the screws from the canopy stay securely in place even after a few crashes. If you print the mount out of TPU, it may slip on the screws and change the angle in a crash. I recommend using supports for both the canopy and the mount to achieve a smooth finish.
