Runcam Micro FPV cam Reinforced case
thingiverse
The standard RunCam Micro shell is extremely fragile. After breaking mine and purchasing a new one from RunCam, I ended up spending an excessive amount of money on a replacement camera. Consequently, I decided to create my own custom case. To prevent light from entering the case, print it at 100%, using BLACK!!!, for the best results. A nozzle diameter of 0.2mm and layer height of 0.1mm are also highly recommended. The lens opening requires calibration with a drill bit size of 7.8 - 7.9mm to ensure proper fitment. Without this adjustment, the lens may not fit properly. Depending on your quad setup, the case can be designed with embedded M2 or M2.5 nuts, or a brad threaded insert. Alternatively, you can drill an additional small hole and attach it directly using four ultra-small screws. I've experimented with various filaments, including PLA, PETG, Rubber (TPU), and ABS. Among these, ABS produced the best results. Rubber also performed well, as the lens fit nicely in place. Additionally, Nylon is a viable option. However, transparent or light-colored filaments (such as yellowish hues) are not recommended, as they allow too much light to pass through. The camera fits perfectly with Demonrc.eu frames, specifically the Fury and Rage models.
