A simple RunCam 2 cover. Typically used with a strap type hold down on a racing or mini quad but it could really be used in any condition the camera needs to be protected. The front of the case extends just slightly beyond the included lens protector. There is no cropping of the image at the corners even with the camera set to the widest FOV. I made sure there's no provision for microphone holes, deliberately keeping wind noise out while flying. If your audio is too muted, you can easily drill a small hole after the print is finished. I also didn't design ventilation for the case in general; instead, I'll test to see if this causes overheating of the camera. Update: I've used the camera for several flights in 95 deg heat with no issue. The covering of the mic holes doesn't work as well as I hoped, and I still get wind noise from around the lens. I may perform the resister mod to cut the microphone volume down some. The buttons, status LED, USB port, and rear battery hatch are all fully accessible. Print Settings: Printer: SparkLabs SparkCube XL Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .52 Infill: 40% Notes: I used Simplify3D to slice. I like to use PETG to print structural parts for my projects because it's very durable. I used a 0.6 size nozzle on my CoreXY based printer. Position the case lens side down on the bed, and include supports under the front facing curve to ensure a cleaner print. I used 40% infill; this will depend on your printer and how strong or heavy you want the case to be. I wouldn't use very high infill as this will transfer all the stress on impact directly to the camera. How I Designed This: I've uploaded the SketchUp file of the design, which also has the basic mock-up of the RunCam 2 if you want to use it as a template to design your own case.
